Can another person's name be legally incorporated in a rent agreement
18-Sep-2023 (In Landlord/Tenant Law)
I was living as a tenant in mumbai, but I got transferred. My lock in period isn't over. Can I find a replacement for me, and recover my deposit from him? Can his name be legally incorporated into the contract? Can the landlord stop me?
No, you need to make a new rent agreement for incorporating the name of a person in the rent agreement. once the agreement is made you cannot add or subtract the name. you can ask your landlord to cooperate and do the needful to help you.
