Can a rent payment check be taken in other's name
12-Jan-2023 (In Landlord/Tenant Law)
I had 3 year rent registered agreement with individual name, Tenant say 'X', he is giving rent cheque from his individual name till now. now after 10 months my tenants X requesting me to accept cheque from his Company name instead of his name. Can i accept rent cheque from his Company name assuming it will be a compnay lease- any issue in this ?
you can accept the rent cheques given by your tenant 'X' in his compnay's name as you did not have any rent/lease-agreement with his company. Thus, his company cannot claim the lease which is given to your tenant 'x' as your rent/lease- agreement clearly should state that it is a contract/agreement between you and your tenant 'x' only.
