25-Aug-2023 (In Landlord/Tenant Law)
Dear Sir/Madam, Today 25th aug 2017, I contacted broker to get a 1BHK flat on rent in wadgaonsheri, Pune area. 2 of the brokers showed me a 1BHK flat of rent Rs. 11500 and deposit amount of Rs. 25000. They asked me to give 11500 as brokerage/advance amount. But I gave Rs. 5000 and told them remanining I will give tomorrow. Later on the same day evening I decided not to go into that flat, but the agents are not returning my money. They are saying that they have given that amount to the landlord and it cannot be returned now. I have the recipt of Rs. 5000 and there is no written deed that the money is non-refundable. Kindly tell me what can I do? Please help me out.

It appears the Broker is tend to cheat you when he is it returning miney. You need to immediately file a police report against the broker and the landlord too..when the police will call both of them you can settle your issues.

Dear Querist,
You need to send them a demand notice and complaint to the police authorities for taking action against the brokers. As there is no deal between the owner and yourself so they are not entitled for any amount. The tactic adopted is to pressurize you to take the house on rent so their income is secured which is illegal.
