Been a tenant for more than 40 years, whats my right over the property

I have been a tenant for more than 40 years. No rent agreement was made. Since he cut electricity bill and water connection, I took my own connection of electricity and water connection. I want to know how much is my ownership if landlord go to court .How I need to strong my case and what step to be taken.

Even if there is no agreement between you and your landlord, there will be no problem in claiming the ownership in the property. But if you feel, its necessity, then its better to have a license agreement. Its not easy to claim the property merely on the basis of staying for a long period. the landlord can always file a case of trespassing and illegal possession over the property against you
