Withholding if salary slips in a startup - Gurgaon

My wife used to work for a startup in 2024 in gurgaon and left her job after 3 month. After she left, she asked for her salary slips over mail multiple time and they never replied. Now she has applied for a company and the company is asking for her previous company’s salary slip. The previous employer has been mailed again regarding the same but they have still not replied or given the salary slips. What can be done legally in such a case.

It is strange that the company is not providing salary slips despite multiple requests. You can try to contact them personally and also check with whoever is taking care of HR related tasks. Lastly, you can send a legal notice.
