Sick leave while serving notice period

Hi, My Company did not allow me to apply sick leave though i had medical reports and doctor's letter as i was serving notice period. Is there any rule that i can refer to for better understanding of the law in this regard.
This is my response to you:
1. You will have to read through your appointment letter;
2. Your labour terms and conditions will have to be revisited;
3. Also employee policy on sick leaves etc. will have to be read through;
4. If you feel betrayed then you can send the company a legal notice and claim compensation.
