Returning Company Assets After long absence

I have been long absent from company due to illness from 26 March 2020 and they considered me absconding and terminated my employment on 7 May 2020 (I did not know)
Company sent me legal notice of returning the company assets within 7 days of notice on 22 May 2020
Today , I saw the notice and 7 days is nearly over.
The legal notice said, after this period, they may file and FIR for laptop theft.
I sent them mail to HR regarding wanting to return the laptop back. They have not replied me yet.
Please advise me how to avoid FIR on me.
This is my response to you:
1. You must have a medical certificate to prove that you were not well;
2. Return the laptop immediately and state reasons of lockdown as well;
3. Consult a local lawyer and take steps
