Request for Legal Advice on Exit Process and Relieving Letter

01-Apr-2025 (In Labour & Service Law)
I joined my previous company on 31st January 2025 but resigned on 19th March 2025 to join a new company on 2nd April 2025, misrepresenting my notice period as 15 days. My early release was denied, and I returned all company assets, but the exit process is still incomplete, my UAN not updating previous company exit date. The new company requires this UAN and relieving for my joining tomorrow, but I can’t provide it due to the pending exit process. I need legal advice on how to resolve this issue.

Since your exit process is incomplete and your UAN is not updated with your previous company's exit date, follow these steps: 1.Contact HR – Reach out to your previous company's HR department formally via email, requesting immediate processing of your exit and UAN update. 2 Legal Notice – If HR is unresponsive, send a legal notice demanding completion of formalities. 3.EPFO Complaint – File a grievance on the EPFO portal to update your UAN exit date. 4.Alternative Proof – Request your new employer to accept alternative proof like resignation acceptance or experience letter temporarily. If delays continue, legal action may be required under labour laws. Let me know if you need further assistance.
