Regarding recruitment of RRB JE Exam

27-Apr-2025 (In Labour & Service Law)
In Recruiting RRB JE, recently i.e., on 22-04-2025, conducted exam in two shifts for different railway boards on one notification. The board now cancelled the examination of shift-II because, 50 questions repeated from shift -I. If that happens for same exam on one notification then how it becomes fair chance? Now who are absent on second shift will get opportunity to write the again but it is not possible to the candidates on shift- 1. We require some legal advise on this sir.

You’ve raised a valid legal issue regarding the RRB JE Exam held on 22-04-2025. The cancellation of only Shift-II due to repetition of 50 questions from Shift-I raises serious concerns under Articles 14 and 16 of the Constitution, which guarantee equality before law and equal opportunity in public employment. Since both shifts were under the same notification and part of a common selection process, the integrity of the entire exam is compromised. Allowing only Shift-II candidates to reappear while Shift-I candidates are not given the same chance amounts to unequal treatment. This selective cancellation violates the principles of natural justice and fairness. Affected candidates from Shift-I may file a representation to the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) demanding parity—either a re-exam for all or equal opportunity for Shift-I candidates. If no response is received within 7–10 days, candidates can approach the High Court under Article 226 by filing a Writ Petition seeking a stay on selective re-exam and praying for a common re-exam for all shifts to ensure fairness. Supporting documents, such as question papers/screenshots showing duplication, should be collected. This matter may also be taken up as a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) if it affects a large number of aspirants. Legal remedy is available, and candidates should act quickly.
