Notice Period waive-off/buyout not being allowed

20-Feb-2025 (In Labour & Service Law)
I resigned from my company on 10th Feb 2025. My notice period is 30 days so my last working day is 11th Mar 2025. However, I did not want to serve the notice period so I mentioned in my resignation email that I am not in the position to serve the notice period and returned all the company assets (Laptop and ID card) and also that I am willing to buy out/settle my notice period. To which company HR replied saying that there is no buy put policy and I will have to serve notice period.

If it was mentioned in employment contract or in company policies to serve the notice period. Them it's mandatory to serve the notice period. You can consult a lawyer or advocate personally for more details.
