Notice period recovery by employer even after waiver was accepted

On the resignation form of the company, there was a question to request for notice period recovery waiver. i had requested for the waiver and the resignation was approved. Still the company recovered money for notice period that was not served. Which section should i refer to? is this worth fighting?
This is my response to you:
1. One will have to read through your appointment letter;
2. Also a document relating to the terms and conditions of your labour have to be read;
3. If you feel betrayed then you can issue a legal notice and claim compensation as well.
