Maternity leave in DNB training

17-Apr-2023 (In Labour & Service Law)
My DNB training tenure ends on 17.07.2020 (Previously it was supposed to end on 05.06.2020, 6 week extension was given to all trainees in view of corona outbreak). My expected date of delivery is 18.07.2020. I requested maternity leave from 20.04.2020 to 17.07.2020. But, my request has been denied from my hospital saying that my EDD falls outside of the leave I requested. So, basically they want me to go to work till 1 day before my delivery date. Following are the DNB maternity leave rules(2017) : "3.1 A female candidate is permitted a maternity leave of 90 days once during the entire duration of DNB course. 3.2. The expected date of delivery (EDD) should fall within the duration of maternity leave. Can the hospital deny my maternity leave as per above? Any way out?
