Can I be punished for absconding from government service

I am a 33 years old female working as UDC in Rajasthan government since 2 years.My husband is not well and to look after him , i applied for leave for 1.5 years which was not accepted. Still i went on leave. What maximum punishment can be charged on me?
Where you do not report to your service, then there can be a disciplinary action taken against you and even then if you are absent from service then you can get terminated.
