What is the basis of deciding maintenance or one time settlement

In the case of a separation/divorce, how is the monthly maint/ one time alimony decided? My net monthly income - approx 1.5 lakh wife monthly income - approx 20,000 Properties - 2 houses married for 25+years children settled (expenses borne by me)
To decide the maintenance or permanent alimony is the discretion of the court.
Depending up on the liabilities of the party. Both things are totally different. It is depend up on the party mutual understanding also.
