Seeking Legal Guidance on Separation/Divorce After 6 Months Marriage

04-Feb-2026 (In Divorce Law)
I was married on 3 Aug 2025; not registered yet. Both IT professionals in Bangalore. Since marriage, there have been frequent verbal fights, interference from her mother and sister, financial pressure, false allegations, and denial of pre-marriage agreements on sharing expenses. Situation escalated to physical violence initiated by her. We live separately in the same house and both want separation. I seek guidance on legal implications since she is employed and how to protect myself from false.

Marriage on 3 Aug 2025 but not registered → In India, non-registration does NOT invalidate a marriage if it was solemnized as per personal law (Hindu, Muslim, Christian, etc.). You will protect yourself by preserving evidences of your wife where she found to be ill treating you or showing cruelty. If she is threatening you that she will file a false case against you than seek an injunction restraining her

since both you want separation, then do not share the same house. you can make incidents documented which will protect you from false incrimination. rest depends upon the situation as arises and advice can only be given after getting briefed properly.

Hlw, I am Adv Hritam Banerjee, I saw your question. You can go for mutual divorce and hire an Advocate so that he can guide you properly so that you can protect yourself from all the false allegations she made.
