Punishment for Bigamy and rights of wives over the property

I married by hindu subsystem..not registered in court.....after 6 mnth my husband married someone....in court....nw we know abt this...i do not hav any prblm..not want to file any case...becaz my husband is feeling he did mistake n sorry for that...n ready to continue life with me...but second wife.. Who knew abt first marriage... Want to file complain....not ready for divorce...so wht to do to safe my husband....whts second wife can do....she has rights on property or maintenance..plz reply

As per ur question ,second wife has done Legal marriage with ur husband ..she has an proof of marriage certificate ..she can claim right in property ...n if she has liberty to file complaint against her husband ..

The second marriage is not valid so Divorce not neccessary. But she has all the options to file criminal and civil complains against him he will have defend himself and prove that she was aware that he was a married man. Let him fight his own battles , why should you take the stress.You should preserve all evidence in case in future he repeats this behaviour.

During subsistence of the first Marriage if husband do another marriage he who shall be punished, which may extent to 7 years and with fine. Since he is adult cannot say that he has married mistakenly. You have right to file Divorce Petition having ground of Bigamy. The second wife can file complaint of cheating and rape. Second wife did not have any right on property since marriage is void.
