29-Sep-2023 (In Divorce Law)

My grand fathers father had two sons from two different wives. My grandfather were step brothers born of same father. My grandfather's step brother had one daughter who has one son. My father is born to my grand father means mother of the boy is sister of my father in relation though born to step uncle or step brother of my grand father. Now we have one sister who's daughter is of the same age wants to marry the son of my grand father's step brother's daughter's son.The boy is maternal uncle of the girl from her mother's side. Is this marriage legally valid under the Hindu Marriage Act 1955?

No such a relation would be prohibited by the Hindu Marriage Act. You could refer to Section 3(g) of the Hindu Marriage Act which refers to degrees of prohibited relationships.

A detailed list of the relationships which are prohibited are provided in the First Schedure to the Act which you may refer to for further clarity.
