23-Sep-2025 (In Divorce Law)
I am currently undergoing divorce HMOP and sole custody GWOP in India being an Indian citizen parent. My minor child is aUS citizen. Once I get the sole custody order in the GWOP case, what do I need to do to get the child's last name changed in India (per child's request).

To change your minor child's last name in India after a GWOP custody order, file the order with an Indian family court. Draft an affidavit for the name change (per child's request), publish it in a newspaper, and notify the gazette. Submit the affidavit, custody order, birth certificate, and passport to the local registrar.
