04-May-2026 (In Divorce Law)
I am an Indian (hindu), married a Bangladeshi muslim woman in 2012, marriage registered in India under special marriage act. She had sent me a legal notice in 2017 from Bangladesh ending the marriage. Later I came to know she is married to a local muslim guy and had a baby also. Now I want to marry another woman and need a divorce certificate immediately. Need urgent help. Thanks.

The marriage is voidable marriage as the act only comes in force in India. The both parties should be of indian origin. This has become necessary to take formal divorce (contested) if you are willing to get seperated by a dicree of divorce as the marriage has been registered and solemnized. please take legal advice before you plan on taking any legal recourse. It is highly advisabe to consult to an Advocate handling matrimonial matters. With regards.

firstly, you need to intimate whether your wife has any permanent residence in India or not, if she has, then it would be easier to get the divorce. if she has not then it would be a bit cumbersome process but still you will be able to get the same but it will take some time. let me know the other details so that I can advice you properly. thanks.
