Proving adultery is very difficult. As you have narrated, it seems that he is using old correspondence and photos which are very hard to prove.

Confronting him without submitting to his demand is the only option. If need arise, prefer a domestic violence complaint.

If he is adopting this technique for extorting money in the name of dowry for not exposing your previous character and life to the outside world, this act can be treated as an illegal act and blackmail. He can be punished for it with imprisonment upto 3 years with fine if the offence is proved.
However you have another option to lodge a criminal complaint against his for his cruel acts and dowry demand harassments, also you can lodge a cyber crime criminal complaint for threatening you by possessing your photographs, besides you can file a domestic violence case too seeking relief against his mental torture and protection for life.
No doubt you have plenty of avenues open before you to make him alright or punish him for his atrocities against you, but in lieu of it you may have to forego your married life which will certainly hamper and he may not be willing to live with you anymore after that and likely to file a divorce case on the grounds of cruelty against you.
Therefore you may think of the pros and cons, analyse all the facts and future issues properly and take a wise decision at a right time. Handle patience until then.
