How difficult is divorce for christian if spouse not wiling to give

I'm a Roman Catholic. How difficult it would be for me to get divorce if my partner is not ready for it and wants revenge. Although it was a love marriage, a month before I had backed out from my marriage. Reasons: I fell in love with someone else. And my then fiancé had a very violent nature. He even hit me before marriage. I was under house arrest for a month as my parents thought it was my mistake. I got married due to society and parents pressure. He even hit me after marriage. Within 10 days, I ran away from him. I stay independently now. It's been 3 years now. I got annulment from church. I don't want anything else. Just wanna get done with legal divorce and start a new life. How can I achieve that?

You have to file a Divorce Petition in Court which he will have to defend ,the Church annulment is in your favour which should make the difficulty level lessor comparatively .Once your divorce petition is filed summons served to him and after he appears in Court there is a good possibility he might agree to the Divorce after Counselling in the Court if not matter will proceed.

Dear friend it is really painful to here the basic fact from you any way as you are seperated for 3 years from your husband and have got cruel treatments from your husband even before marriage and you succumed for the pressure of family and society to go for this marriage .
