Filed divorce against my husband he want to reconcile and contested

My husband slapped me after one long arguments so I went my parents home then after 9 months she called me then I get in then after three months again a misunderstanding he slapped me two times again I left from him after two years of seperation he many times try to message me and some times anger using abuse words and reconcile iam not convinced now he tell while the counseling want to reconcile and want to contest how long it will take we have no children
