Can I file for maintenance took divorce in 1998

I was divorced in 1998...I never got any financial help from my husband... I want to know can I file a case now for maintenance..
We would like to know if it was mutual divorce or a contested one. If it was a mutual divorce then you cannot as maintenance. If it was a contested divorce then you can file for maintenance.
