Amendment of DV petition by wife, how to remove maintenance by herself

Sir, I had filed dv petition, my lawyer added 2 lac per month maintainance in it. But I want to remove it at earliest because I am govt. Employee. Please tell me the process to make amendment on the basis of salary slip, before the argument state in dv, I filed the petition in nov,2024 and argument date is August,2025.
You can file an amendment application under Section 151 CPC before the concerned court, requesting modification of the prayer clause regarding ₹2 lakh monthly maintenance. Mention clearly that the amount was mistakenly mentioned and is not feasible based on your actual government salary. Attach your latest salary slip or income certificate as documentary proof. Since the case is still pending at the argument stage, the court may allow the amendment to avoid miscarriage of justice. To amend your DV petition and remove the ₹2 lakh/month maintenance claim, you must file an amendment application under Section 12 of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005 read with Order VI Rule 17 CPC (civil procedure). Attach your salary slip and mention that being a government employee, the maintenance claimed was inadvertently high and beyond your means. Since arguments are yet to begin (in August 2025), the court is likely to allow the amendment as no prejudice is caused.

If you still want to claim some symbolic maintenance or relief for child (if any), your lawyer can modify the amountinstead of ₹2L.
Or you can completely withdraw the maintenance prayer and only pursue protection/residence/other reliefs under the DV Act.
