3 dowry Act agianst the parents of wife for wifes claim in FIR

19-Mar-2023 (In Divorce Law)
Sir, my wife has filed a false fir against me and my family members u/s 498a , 3/4 dowry act after a gap of 21.5 months. she has alleged that her parents made an expenditure of Rs. 20 lakhs in the marriage and also give dowry. While the marriage was performed in a very simple manner in presence of family members from both sides. Roughly there were 10-12 members in total. She had messaged me after a gap of 6 months after the FIR that her family is poor , they didnot have money to make expenditure in marriage nor do they have money right now. I want to ask as per section 3 dowry act giving and taking of dowry both are offence, and section 7(3) dowry act says that the aggrieved person of the offence cant be prosecuted for her admission of the offence of giving dowry then the wife cannot be prosecuted for giving dowry but her parents can be prosecuted or not. Thsi is my question . can i file a complaint agaisnt her parents for her claim in the FIR that her parents have given dowry to me

Yes…it’s equally a criminal offence under section 3 of the dowry prohibition act to give dowry. Your wife was misleaded before filing the above said complaint and that’s beneficial for you. You can also file an FIR against them under section 499 for defaming you and your parents in the society.
