Ragging, mental harassment, and systematic social exclusion

16-Sep-2025 (In Criminal Law)
I am a fresher student at a college in chennai. I have been facing social exclusion and ostracisation by the students in a sports team that have excluded me from the team without reason and have instructed others to block me and not interact with me. This is causing me severe mental agony for which I have had to seek counselling. Upon reporting the incident to the Dean and others, I have not received any resolution for 8 weeks now. I want to sue the students and seek damages and restitution.

Dear Client, 1. You may treat this as harassment, bullying and mental cruelty. File a complaint with the college grievance/redressal cell and under the UGC anti-ragging regulations. 2. You can lodge a police complaint under IPC for harassment and criminal intimidation. 3. For compensation, you may file a civil suit for damages for mental agony. 4. Consult an advocate to discuss your case in brief. 5. You may schedule an appointment regarding your case by phone or email at your convenience. Thanks & regards, Priyanka Advocate Coimbatore
