Person abused me in front of 50 people what action can I take?

siir i am a normal guy i met with an accident and damged the other party vehicle we both where discussing about how settel suddenly a person around age 40-45 come in the middel and started supporting to other party whose vehicle was damaged by me i firstly reqested him to step aside but he refused and suddely started abusing in bad language and suddenly so many people gathered around 50 people and that guy slapped me and was trying to hit with helmet some how i escaped now can i file case against him for embarrassing me and hitting me on road infront of 50 people what are my legal rights
File a complaint with the local police station detailing the incident. It would be better if you can somehow identify the person who got involved and harassed you. Usually, the police are slow to act on such complaints. If the police refuses to register an FIR then you may approach the magistrate's court to have a FIR registered and an investigation conducted.
