Passport seized when case pending case over now police not giving it

Six years back police took my passport relating to case. The case got over recently but the police is not wiling to return my passport. How can i recover my passport?
YOU HAVE TWO OPTIONS SIR, One is filing an application before the trail court for release of said pass port or 2nd option is filing criminal Petition or Writ petition for direction to release your passport but at the time filing application or Petition before any court you have to produce any endorsement which shows police was seized your passport during case was pending before the court.
