Looking for advocates speciailising in the Mental Healthcare Act, 2017

06-Jul-2025 (In Criminal Law)
I have registered a complaint to the Mental Health Review Board as per sec 73 of the Mental Healthcare Act, 2017. I have some queries and wish to talk to an advocate who has specialised or dealt in the provisions of the Mental Health Care Act, 2017 (especially in the following sections/chapters of the act — Chapter 3: Advance Directive; Chapter 4: Nominated Representative; Chapter 11: Mental Health Review Boards; Sec 89- Forced Admissions).

You may consult a legal practitioner experienced in mental health and patient rights who can assist with interpretation and enforcement of provisions under the Mental Healthcare Act, 2017. Relief can be sought through the Mental Health Review Board under Chapter 11 for reviewing treatment decisions, forced admissions under Section 89, and rights violations. Legal support is also essential for matters involving enforcement of Advance Directives (Chapter 3) and appointment or dispute regarding a Nominated Representative (Chapter 4). Representation before the Board and, if necessary, writ petitions before the High Court under Article 226 can also be explored depending on the relief sought.
