do we have to keep 10% of defamation value in the court in a defamation case
As per the provisions of the Indian Penal code especially u.s. 499 and 500, see whether it justifies your cause of action.
Further we have to see whether you have filed this case or you are the accused in this case.
You don't have to keep 10% amount of the amount claimed against defamation. The court shall decide whether the claim is justified or not and whether the amount of compensation is justified or not.
