Charges u/s 354 and 504, if he surrenders, how much time to get bail?

15-Oct-2023 (In Criminal Law)

There is 1 case of my cousin police called him to surrender in charges of section 354 and 504 of IPC. My only question is for the meantime is, if he surrendered then will he be able to get a bail on a same day? or what will be the next action for that?

Proper course of action will be to seek anticipatory bail and avoid arrest altogether. Pls don't go by what police tell you. Arrest brings stigma and damage to reputation which cannot be compensated.

Pls take an appointment to advice you properly on the subject.

There is no guarantee that you will get bail on the same day. In fact, in 354 the likelihood is even less. You have to apply for anticipatory bail before you go to the police. You should stay at home also as they may come to arrest you at home.

Regards

- Section 354 of IPC
