Can privious conviction affect in getting govt job

I have completed the sentence of 1 year which was given to me by the session court in section 354 of the IPC now I am free from jail and my appeal is also pending in High Court can I prepare for any government job I am eligible or not for government jobs?

The offence under section 354 of IPC involves moral turpitude, so you can be ineligible for government job. But as you said that the appeal is pending you may try for government job, but remember one thing that never ever hide the fact of your conviction whenever asked in the exam forms etc. of government job even though you get acquitted from the appellate court, because only on this basis you may be dismissed from the government job.
