Can FIR be raised on issues done in 2012

client got physically assaulted by his wife at 2012,now they r already divorced for an year.can a FIR be raised on that issue now?
No, after one year of separation FIR does not lie on cruelty ground, but it mostly depend on Police authority. In the instant case the divorce already decreed then criminal case does not lie. If FIR is concerned now then one can quash in High Court.
