Can a criminal cases can go under mediation or lokadalat ?

criminal cases can go under mediation or lokadalat. Its a child labour case, child is from my native place and came for betterment with the written request of her mother, my neighbor who is back of my property not succeeded in the lower court, with help of NGO lodge a FIR against me. 22 month over charge sheet not given by the court. please guide me how to come up from this case. before the complain ticket was booked for return journey. child stay was only 23 days in Bangalore.

Criminal cases can be referred to mediation subject if the offence is compoundable. If you have already engaged an advocate then you take his suggestion in this regard. Further if the charge sheet is not filed and delayed it is better to approach the High Court under Section 482 of Cr.P.C. seeking direction to Investigating Officer to file the charge sheet at the earliest.
