Can a complainant get a copy of FIR?

Can I see the FIR copies that I was filing in the police....I think one copy should be given to the complainer but in my time they don't give after filing my complain

Under Section 154 (2) of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 the officer-in-charge of the police station who records the FIR is bound to give a copy of the information (free of charge) as recorded under section 154 (1) to the informant.
