Call from central crime branch for identification

Hi,
A friend of mine got a call asking him to come to the Central Crime Branch Bangalore as his contact was found in some mobile phone. No name of the officer or details were provided. Does he have to go? Why is he getting this call?
Hi if there is a summons to meet the police official either through a notice or phone call, you will have to meet them and support in the investigation for which you have been summoned. It's a matter of process and no need to worry.
