She is currently avoiding me, blaming me for emotional harassment, and has threatened suicide, claiming I am the reason, preventive legal notice and protect myself.

Based on the facts stated, it is important to protect yourself legally. You may issue a preventive legal notice to her and her husband, clearly stating that your relationship was mutual, voluntary, and without any coercion. Also, record and preserve all communications (messages, calls, gifts) as evidence. If she or her husband threatens or files a false complaint, you may approach the police with a preventive petition under Section 482 CrPC before the High Court seeking protection from harassment. Do not engage further with her privately and ensure all future communication, if any, is only through proper legal channels.

Dear Client, 1. You should immediately stop all contact with her to avoid harassment allegations. Collect and preserve all evidence (chats, gifts, messages) proving the relationship was consensual. 2. Send a preventive legal notice through an advocate denying false allegations and stating no responsibility for her personal decisions. If she threatens suicide, inform her family or local police to protect yourself legally. This will safeguard you from charges under IPC sections related to harassment, abetment of suicide, or criminal intimidation. 3. Consult an advocate to discuss your case in brief. 4. You may schedule an appointment regarding your case by phone or email at your convenience. Thanks & regards, Priyanka Advocate Coimbatore
