Based on the facts shared, your boyfriend’s act of physical assault amounts to a criminal offence under Sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 354 (assault or use of criminal force to woman), and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code. You should immediately visit the nearest police station and lodge a written complaint or FIR narrating the entire incident. If your injuries are visible, get a medical examination done at a government or private hospital and preserve the medical report and photographs as evidence. These will be crucial for legal action.

I want to assure you that you are in a strong position to take legal action, and I will guide you on how to proceed effectively. To build a solid foundation for your case, immediate action is necessary. Your first course of action is to file an FIR (First Information Report) against the individual. This officially sets the wheels of justice in motion. Simultaneously, it is absolutely crucial that you get a medico-legal examination conducted. The most direct way to do this is by calling 112. The police will facilitate the medical examination, and the report generated will serve as powerful, objective evidence to support your claims. Do not underestimate the importance of this step. Regarding the other applicable charges, a comprehensive legal strategy can only be formulated after a careful review of the complete factual matrix and supporting documents. Once the FIR is filed and the medical report is available, we can determine every single provision of the law that applies to your case to ensure he is held accountable to the fullest extent. Take these steps with confidence; they are the correct and necessary path to your remedy.

You should immediately visit the nearest government hospital or private clinic and get your medical examination done to document the injuries. Keep all reports and photos safely. Then, approach the local police station and file an FIR for assault, criminal intimidation, and attempt to cause grievous hurt under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) such as Sections 124 (voluntarily causing hurt), 125 (causing grievous hurt), and 351 (criminal intimidation). 8-3-7-7-0-5-1-6-7-5

You can anytime file a complaint in writing to the police station according to your jurisdiction against him and this is a criminal offence and you can also register a FIR against him. But first of all it's mandatory to get the MLC done from the hospital.
