About law of child pornography

10-Dec-2025 (In Criminal Law)
I am preparing for government exam. I wanted to learn more about the government laws against child pornography. I accidentally searched for child pornography once on Google, but I immediately closed all tabs as soon as I realized it was illegal. I did not visit any websites containing such material or view any imagery; I only read about the laws against it. I'm very scared—is this also a crime?

No offence is made out in your case. Accidental searching, without accessing, viewing, downloading, or storing any illegal content, is not a crime. You immediately closed the tabs and only read about the law, which shows no criminal intent. Laws apply only when there is intentional viewing, possession, sharing, or transmission of such material. You need not worry. If you receive any notice (which is unlikely), consult a lawyer. For help in this matter, please contact me.
