Infringement of Copyright in launching website with same idea

How can I ensure that I am not infringing on copyright issues, in implementing a game website that has same idea, format as that of a game format that already exists on the internet.
If you only get inspired from an existing idea and create something from scratch, absolutely new and unique, then you will probably not infringe any copyright. However if you copy even the content, format, advertising gimmicks, strategies, etc., there will likely be an infringement.
