Father wrote for a TV show but no credit was given to him

Hi. Your father is definitely entitled to credits for the story but we will need proof to show that he was the writer of the original story and screenplay. We can send the channel a legal notice claiming copyright infringement and asking them to give credits to your father. This can be the first step to amicably settle the matter.
But again, we will need to prove that your father is the owner of the story. mails, letters and communication would be useful.

We note from your query that your father has authored the script, concept, story and title for the recently aired television serial “Sia ke Ram” on Star Plus and has not been given due credit for the same.

Please note that the Indian Copyright Law accords protection to the original work and therefore the creator of any Copyright Work. In order to determine that your father is the ‘original creator/writer’ of the story “Sia Ke Ram” we need to ascertain the proof of ownership.
