Subject: Legal Advice on Affidavit Validity

10-Jan-2025 (In Civil Law)
SIR/MAM I made an affidavit in April 2024 for FY 2023-24 and applied for an EWS certificate on 8th Jan 2025. The Village Accountant claims affidavits expire in 6 months. As per the Notaries Act, 1952, affidavits remain valid unless the data changes, which hasn’t in my case. I’ve also received EWS certificates in previous years without issues. Is this claim valid? How can I address this with authorities to ensure my application is processed?

The affidavit is valid subject to changes in the material facts. If the authorities are not acting and harassing you then a case may be filed to seek directions for the same. The directions once issued by the court cannot be violated.
