As a parent, you have the legal right to request and obtain your child’s Transfer Certificate (TC) and marks card from the school when withdrawing her admission. Once a formal application is submitted, the school is obligated to issue these documents within a reasonable time, and any refusal without valid reason is unjustified and contrary to educational norms. The principal’s rude behaviour and refusal to issue the TC can be challenged by approaching the school management or the concerned education board, such as the State Education Department or CBSE/ICSE authorities, depending on the school’s affiliation. If the issue persists despite reminders, you may escalate the matter legally by sending a formal notice or filing a complaint with the education authorities, as the denial of such documents can adversely affect the child’s right to continue her education. Would suggest you to send a legal notice to the school and its management.

You can file a case against the school authorities in the High court. The school authorities cannot deny any of the documents. Court will give directions to the School to handover the documents to the student and his/her parents.
