Road usage - belongs to town panchayat

Sir,Our house’s back side has a 8-10 ft street (claimed as a private road). Last month, the panchayat has laid a concrete blocks on that street. Recently, we got a written confirmation from panchayat (for bank loan purpose) that this road belongs to Town Panchayat. When we tried to put a gate on the backside road , the people around the street are opposing it and claiming as it’s private road. Legally, what’s are my options to use that road ? (Note: we have just 3ft road at the front side)

hi alocious here, I can well understand your concern from the query raised, firstly you can give an objection/complaint letter to the town panchayat, if they reject your objection we can file a writ for directions, thank you you can contact me for further clarifications
