Removing spouse name from Indian passport

Muslim male , state - Gujarat 1) Existing passport made 9.5 yrs back when I was married. It has spouse name on it. 2) After passport was made (9.5 yrs back) I divorced my muslim wife as per Islamic law only. 3) Court ignored / did not comment on my islamic law divorce. Court only ordered to pay Monthly maintenance, which I have been paying 4) Remarried 8 yrs back. Separated later. 5) Passport is due for renewal. Can I remove 1st wife name from passport ? Divorce was only as per Islamic law.

You need to get a divorce decree from the Court of Law. without which it cannot be recognised by the passport authorities. Also it's a lengthy and time consuming process. if you have nikah nama from your past marriages, pl bring them for my perusal and consideration. after having a look at your papers only, I would be able to guide or consult you in legal world. feel free to connect. consultation fees applicable.

if u have the decree of court for your divorce from ur wife, ur wife's name can be removed. Otherwise, u have to give divorce deed to the passport authority if they allow. other than that there is no way for the removal of spouse name from passport
