22-Nov-2023 (In Civil Law)
A misc. revision petition is filed in Uttarakhand High Court against order passed by District court by the opposite party which got admitted. Now I am respondent in the said RP and I want to fight the same myself in person. What will be the procedure of the same? I am living in a different city so can I visit High Court on the date of hearing or shall I visit their earlier also for the proceedings of completing the procedure of fighting case in person.

You have the right to fight your own cases you have to seek a permissions of court on the day when your matter is listed .A party in person is allowed to fight his own case in the court.but you should be aware of certain difficulties that you may face. No doubt, you would be the master of the facts of your case. But, you should also have a working knowledge of law, procedures and to some extent, the court-craft. If you don’t know the procedural and legal nuances, you may lose on important points. And in uttarakhand high court you dont even know your matter will be heard or not on the when it is listed so if it is not heard your whole day will be espolied. So can hire a junior who will not charge too much.
