Nuisance from neighbour's tree what action can we take

Our neighbor has deliberately planted 6 ficus trees next to our compound wall.this tree has spoiled our compound wall.it has ruined our garden.this tree is notorious for invasive roots and can destroy the foundation of the house.thsee 6 trees have grown to 60 feet and branches enter our house. The garden department does not give permission to cut branches upto the compound wall.my 83 yr old father spends 2 hours daily clearing leaves. It should be neighbors task to see that roots and leaves do not spoil my property and create nuisance.Garden dept and Police do not cooperate . How do I res

1) If branches of tree are protruding in your land you can trim those branches in the property line . 

2) Better take your neighbour into confidence before taking the drastic step. If you have spoken to your neighbour about the tree issue, and he has not done anything about it you do have laws that protect you. The tree may constitute a nuisance, by interfering with your use and enjoyment of your own property. You could file a nuisance claim, and if the court finds that the true is a nuisance, the court may order the tree removed.
