Neighboring land encroachment dispute.

Neighbor came to know that his land is lesser by 5ft. Now claiming in the court that i encroached on his land. But actually encroachment is done by someone else couple of plots away. I only had possession as per my documents. Is there any judgment which mentions that immediate neighbor cannot be held responsible in encroachment rather case should be filed against complete block.
