Legal /Appearance fees of lawyers

21-Jul-2024 (In Civil Law)
1. In a court appearance, the lawyer does not go for hearing (on his client's request) and the lawyer send his junior to the court to adjourn the matter. Will appearance fees be charged in such case? 2. Will appearance fees be charged in case the lawyer withdraws the case on clients' request?

well it depends on the client and advocates relationship. lawyer can send their juniors for the hearing when lawyers are of firm view that their juniors know it well and can handle the matter comfortably.

it is the prudence of the client to discuss the payment scenario and if the total fee is charged then there is no question of appearance fee. it is the relation of the lawyer and the client which determines the fee.

It’s important to act swiftly in this situation. First, document all your interactions with the movers, including payment receipts, booking details, and delivery confirmations for the other items. This will be useful if legal action is necessary. Send a formal, written complaint via email and postal mail to the moving company's office. Make sure to include all relevant details, such as the missing items, the booking number, and the delivery address. Clearly state that if they do not respond or deliver the missing items within a specified time, you will escalate the matter legally. If they continue to be unresponsive, file a complaint.
