Issue for OBC caste certificate

25-Sep-2025 (In Civil Law)
I was born, educated, and permanently reside in Maharashtra. My father, originally from Madhya Pradesh, settled here years ago. Our caste is OBC in both states. My OBC certificate application in Maharashtra was rejected for lack of pre-1967 residence proof. Can I apply in Madhya Pradesh instead, and will they issue it? Is MP domicile required for the caste certificate?

Application Rejected - Often due to missing documents, mismatch in caste name/spelling, or wrong category (OBC vs. SEBC). Solution: Re-apply with correct caste proof (school leaving certificate, caste validity of parents/relatives, old certificate, etc.). 2. Caste Not in Central/State OBC List - Some castes are recognized at the state level but not at the central level. Solution: Check if your caste is in the State OBC list and/or Central OBC list (for Central Govt. jobs/education). If not, you cannot get benefits under OВС. 3. Income Certificate Issue - For OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) certificate, annual family income (from salary, business, agriculture) must be within the prescribed limit (generally 8 lakh). Solution: Submit updated income certificate from Tehsildar/SDM.
